Your job: I’m a medical student, although this year I’m also working on my MBA. After I (finally!) graduate in 2024, I’m planning to use my training to take care of patients and to work on business and policy solutions that improve our healthcare system.
Your job: I’m a professionally trained pastry chef, and my husband and I run a tiny dinner restaurant, but I’ve also started doing some interior design work part-time.
Q.Tell me a little about your journey sharing your style on instagram.
A. I really started posting on a semi-regular basis when the pandemic started. Before March 2020 we had two restaurants, and one was a bakery/breakfast/lunch place where I worked probably 50 or so hours a week, so I just didn’t have time for much social media. When the pandemic hit I found myself at home with lots of creative energy and nowhere to put it, so I started posting outfits, mostly to keep myself from just being bummed out in sweatpants every day. I found a great slow fashion community on instagram and it really helped my sanity in the last couple of years.
We caught up with our friend and style-inspiration Sadie Egan, and asked her about her work, her life, her home and her passion for sewing. Here's what she shared.
Your name:Sadie Egan
Where you live:Richmond, California
Your day job:I work in special education as an assistive technology specialist. I help set up students, families and staff with technology for communication and learning. The system Stephen Hawking used to communicate is a popular example of the type of stuff I do, although every student I work with is totally different!
I've been creative my whole life. I was the kid that always liked having creative projects, from drawing to teaching myself how to knit. In High School, I took a photography class and never looked back. I have a BFA and an MFA (which I received later in life). After college, I worked as an art director and visual designer for retail companies for many years, yet at a certain point it wasn't fulfilling, so I switched back to fine art and painting.

It's been a LONG time since we've been able to come together, and so we relished the opportunity to get together with some of our community last week to celebrate the launch of our newest creation: The monochrome platform!!! Here are some photos from the shoot.
