BE-IMAGINATIVE is a collective of artists, healers, and community leaders who are dedicated to healing our black and brown communities through multidimensional storytelling. BE-IMAGINATIVE builds community through gatherings and ceremonies rooted in African ancestral tradition and the memorialization of ancestors through visual and performance art, grieving rituals and healing to #DISRUPTHOPELESSNESS, especially among survivors of gun violence.
Their approach is modeled in 3 stages:

BE curates safe and culturally relevant healing spaces facilitated by artists, activists, healers and therapists. Each participant and collective member brings whole selves to a sacred collective healing experience.

BE curates powerful art mediums created by collective members in collaboration with our participants. The creation of brilliant counternarratives by way of visual and performing artists exhibit narratives of empowerment. Mediums include music of SOL Development, documentary film, photography, paintings, murals and so much more.

BE curates art shows/activation spaces where powerful and creative artworks are exhibited alongside brilliant community dialogue. We engage our larger community in disruptive hope.

"As you may know BE-IMAGINATIVE has experienced tremendous success, we are an award-winning social enterprise fiscally sponsored by YR Media – a collective of artists, healers and community leaders who are dedicated to healing our communities through creative storytelling. We have tapped into the power of art and culture in a way that restores hope in some of the most hopeless circumstances – targeting Black Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) in Northern California who have been impacted by high volumes of trauma and loss....
Currently, we find ourselves at a challenge, and we are calling upon our community for support. As a primarily volunteer-led collective of 5 years, we have boot-strapped and pinched pennies to continue the mission of our work. We have found the process of seeking institutional funding to be exhaustive, confusing and extremely time consuming as we have limited capacity to raise money and create impactful programming at the same time. Despite current obstacles, our work has had tremendous success in the last 5 years. Mama Myra who lost her son Diante Jones to gun violence says, BE-IMAGINATIVE restores her hope, potential and power, giving her a purpose to keep striving for in life. Many of our families and community participants echo the same sentiments.
BE-IMAGINATIVE is seeking $53,700 to continue to provide healing experiences for our vulnerable community members for the next 6 months. Though this short-term goal is a priority for now, we are also seeking deeper relationships with our financial partners to support us in the long-term sustainability of BE-IMAGINATIVE, in the form of multi-year grant funding, funder introductions & relationships to support our capacity building for greater success. All our clogs are made by hand in our San Francisco Studio, using the highest quality American leather, solid wood bases and high quality craftsmanship. We made our clogs to order, just for you.
Here's what to expect once you place your order:
Once you place your order, the ticket will go to our production team. Orders are made in chronological order, and usually take between 2-4 weeks to be made, depending on how busy the season is. Once your clogs have been made, we'll pack and ship them to you. If you place 2 or more orders, they will be held until all the pairs are ready to go. You'll receive a shipping notification once your pair of clogs have been handed off to the shipping courier.
If you request a refund, you will be automatically refunded to the original form of payment, less initial and return shipping costs ("handling"), within 5 business days of arrival at our studio. There is no need to reach out to us via email.
If you request an exchange your new clogs will automatically ship to you upon receipt of your returns clogs. You will not be charged outbound shipping again, but if there is a difference in the item price, you'll be charged or refunded back to the original form of payment. Please note that the production lead time applies for your second, exchange order. We cannot expedite exchange orders.
Returns are accepted at Bryr Studio’s discretion. Returns must be new, unworn, undamaged. Returns that do not meet this criteria will not be approved. If a return is not approved, we will reach out to via email to discuss next steps.

Natural wood and leather:
Our clog bases are made of solid wood, and if struck hard against a hard surface they will chip. This is the nature of wooden bases, not a material defect. We do not accept returns on clogs that have been chipped. To learn more about our clogs and how to care for them, please see our care page.
